The Seattle Seahawks are the latest NFL team to find out the hard way that in the matter of a couple games, a position of strength can turn into a position of weakness. The vaunted “Legion of Boom” lost its second member in as many weeks, with confirmation that safety Kam Chancellor will miss the remainder of 2017 with a neck injury.

During last week’s Thursday Night Football contest, the Seahawks lost cornerback Richard Sherman to a ruptured Achilles.
With both Chancellor and Sherman done, Seattle is in a bit of a precarious situation this season. At 6-3, the Seahawks currently have hold of the final wild-card spot in the NFC. But now the secondary is all the sudden a little suspect, and offensively Seattle has been a bit of a roller coaster this season. That leaves little breathing room.
The best is yet to come. Thank you for all the prayers and messages. Gods Grace is all you can ask for ??????

Beyond this season, there are also long-term questions in the Seattle secondary. First, regarding Sherman, there’s a least some talk that his time with the Seahawks could be done. Sherman is only under contract for next year, and he could become a cap casualty if Pete Carroll’s squad decides it’s ready to move on at corner. Secondly, between Sherman and/or Chancellor, getting injured this late in the season calls into question their availability to start the 2018 season.
To date, Chancellor started all nine games for Seattle. And is third on the team in tackles – with 33 – heading into the team’s Monday night home game against an Atlanta Falcons team that’s only a game behind Seattle in the wild-card race.
