When we all looked at Justise Winslow throughout the college season and in all those mixtapes, we knew that he was more of a defensive talent than an offensive one. I mean he’s good on the fast break but in terms of getting his own shot, needs some improvement.
Well. Winslow knows that his offensive game needs a major clean up and according to the Miami Herald, he’s doing just that.
“I definitely feel comfortable shooting from three-point range but it’s working on everything: pull-ups, mid-range, posting up, finishing. There has been a huge emphasis on my shooting mechanics, trying to get everything more fluid and more natural so I can become a better three-point shooter. But there hasn’t been an over-emphasis on three-point shooting.”
I don’t think the Heat drafted him based on his three point shooting, but when you got Dragic and Wade gaining attention on the floor, Justise got to hit those open shots when given them. It’ll take some time for him to be able to create his own shot in my opinion, but if he gets a good midrange pull-up and gets better at the rim, he’ll be a star player in no time.
