The Cavs have a good nucleus of players returning for the upcoming season, but they have still not agreed to deals with J.R. Smith or Tristan Thompson, their main targets left in free agency. It now seems they are both bound to remain with Cleveland as deals are in the works to make both return for another run at the title.
Spoke to a league source who says it’s just a matter of time until the Cavs re-sign Tristan & JR & believes Cavs only keep 14 on the roster.

With these two re-signing, Cleveland is going to have a lot of roster continuity, which could help the team perform well again this season. They are looking to improve upon last year’s loss in the NBA Finals by winning the franchise’s first ever title.
The offseason in Cleveland has brought a lot of questions about the Cavs, but with this news, there is nothing to panic about. Everybody is back and is ready to go all in to finally bring their city a title. With these two pieces now expected back, a title is everything except a long-shot.
