Junior Galette and the Washington Redskins have agreed to a one year deal. The deal comes after just 6 days after the Saints decided to release him. ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported the news.

Galette will be receiving the veteran minimum from Washington. This of course comes to no surprise as he is currently battling a torn pec muscle suffered during a weight lifting accident. The Redskins were the only team that the former Saints linebacker visited and the two sides even decided to add a wrinkle into the deal according to NFL Network’s Albert Breer.
The deal also hands Washington something rare in NFL circles: right of first refusal for Galette’s services in 2016, allowing them to match any deal he earns from another team.
Galette now makes Washington’s defense even scarier. New Skins GM Scot McGloughan has done a great job rebuilding the defensive front seven already adding Stephen Paea and Terrence Knighton this offseason. Gallete could be a vital piece to the defense being across from Ryan Kerrigan.
