With the June 25th debut date for the BIG3 basketball league fast approaching, more and more names of NBA past are getting announced. Yesterday, a doctor was added into the mix. The BIG3 has brought in quite a few high-profile NBA legends to partake in the league. Recently, Charles Oakley was announced a player-coach for the league. This came on the heels of his spat with the New York Knicks and owner James Dolan, a well-timed PR announcement from the BIG3.
Aside from Erving the other coaches include several Hall-of-Famer players. Allen Iverson, Rick Berry, Clyde Drexler, George Gervin and Gary Payton have all been named coaches by the BIG3 league. There will be no shortage of star-power on display, and Julius Erving only adds to that.
The BIG3 league will begin play on June 25th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
