Patriots wide receiver threw some high praise at New England’s backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Edelman recently compared Jimmy G’s confidence to Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre. Would Bill Belichick be willing to enter trade negotiations when the organization thinks so highly of Garoppolo?
“I’m not a paid GM so I don’t know the whole value thing, but as far as a guy that I could play with every single day, Jimmy Garoppolo, I mean, the guy’s a stud,” Edelman said Tuesday on NFL Network’s NFL Total Access. “He went out and played in the regular season and he played very well. He’s got that kind of gunslinger confidence. That Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers kind of confidence. He practices hard, he prepares hard. He’s a good kid. He’s young. I think he’s a good player.”
The Bears and Browns have already made it known that they are interested in Jimmy G. There are a number of teams that could enter into a bidding war for the Patriots backup quarterback. If anything is certain, it’s that Bill Belichick never makes a bad deal. Is Garoppolo’s upside worth the risk of doing business with Belichick?
