The Denver Nuggets have not gotten off to a strong start as many expected and things are only getting worse before they get better. Second-year forward Juancho Hernangomez has been diagnosed with mononucleosis.

Hernangomez wasn’t expected to be a super important part of the team this season being viewed as a reserve forward. He seemed sluggish to start the season and it showed. He played 13 total minutes in the Nuggets first two games and did not record a stat.
The Nuggets are losing a pretty solid rebounder and shooter without Hernangomez. The big man will most likely see his time go to Wilson Chandler and possibly new signee Richard Jefferson. Hernangomez averaged 4.9 points and three rebounds in 13.6 minutes per game and shot 40.7 from 3-point distance.
