Jrue Holiday is a constant problem for the New Orleans Pelicans. Alright let’s reword that, concern. With his constant injuries throughout his NBA career, the Pelicans can’t do much but nurse him and help him out as much as possible.
If this kid was 100% healthy, the Pelicans would be a guaranteed Playoff contender. But that’s a NBA2K fantasy unfortunately. Training Camp is coming and according to the Times-Picayune, Jrue will be at Pelicans camp, but with restrictions.
New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday has made enough progress in his recovery from offseason surgery in his lower right leg that he’s expected to be cleared for training camp later this month.
But Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said on Friday that Holiday is likely going to be under restrictions involving practicing just once a day when two-a-day practices are scheduled during camp, which is set to open on Sept. 29 at The Greenbrier in West Virginia.
Whether they’ll let him loose in the regular season remains to be seen, I wouldn’t be surprised if they go super safe with Holiday and then let him loose for the final Playoff push. Because he is needed, can’t just be Anthony Davis flexing.
