The point of a team doctor is to diagnose the players from game to game, asking them how they feel. Do they need a minute restrictions for when they get back? Stuff like that.
Of all players that needed a minutes restriction, Jrue Holiday would be very high on the list. I mean the kid should be on minutes restrictions for at least a season, I swear he’s never healthy. We get on Derrick Rose all the time but Jrue is just as unlucky. He’s ready to go for another season, (somehow) but in an interview with Sports Illustrated, he mentioned that he never got a minute restriction last season.
“Last year we planned on having a minute restriction but as a competitor and at the time, when he would ask me, ‘Are you good to go?’ I’d say, ‘Yeah.’ My leg felt good and I told him it felt good. As competitors and coaches and all that, that’s what they see – that he’s good to go. But I felt like as a doctor, he knows the biomechanics of it where when you stress your leg or something like that, you need a lot more time to heal, especially after you have surgery.“
For all that is holy just accept that you’re injury prone and take the minutes restrictions. To be fair if you continue with the article he knows that he needs to chill and that’s all. Just dish to Anthony Davis & Co and you’re sorted. No need for overreaching.
