So the stage is set for All-Star Saturday Night. We have a great line-up whether it’s the Skills Challenge, the Slam Dunk Contest. Mini rant here. Can you people quit with being so negative about the Slam Dunk Contest? Yes, LeBron didn’t want to do it, get over it. Yes, the constant rule changes are annoying. But are you that spoiled? Do you just watch “BallIsLife Mixtapes” all day and get uppity about dunk? If you don’t care, don’t watch it. Simple.
And lastly we have the 3-Point Contest which is STACKED. The list is great and I really don’t know who to pick, it’s truly a toss up and I like that. But somebody isn’t happy about the selection. J.R. Smith, he wanted to take part and now he feels left out.
“I might take the Marshawn Lynch approach on this one, so I don’t get fined,” Smith said, noting the Seattle Seahawks running back’s notoriously brief comments to the media. “I got a lot to say about it but I’m not going to say anything because it’s not going to help it.”
“At the end of the day, it’s not my decision,” Smith said. “I really can’t be mad, I guess. Well, I can, but I try to not let that bother me. We’re in first place in our division, so at the end of the day, this is about wins and losses for us, not about who is going to All-Star Weekend.”
“I feel as though I’m one of the best 3-point shooters to play, regardless if it’s this year, last year or when I was 4-years old,” Smith said.
Wow he pulled out all the cards from the “I’m Salty” collection. He pulled out his place in history as one of the best shooters in the game (debatable) and even went with the “My teams the best so I don’t even care about ASW”. J.R, mate, pipe down please. Quit being salty and trying to dampen down the best weekend in basketball.
It’s a fun competition, we don’t want to see you and your hot n cold shooting stroke. And why are you so angry about it now? Why this year and not the others?
