Before Game 6 of the NBA Finals officially tipped off tonight, reporters asked the daughter of J.R. Smith a very easy question: “What is it like watching your dad play in the NBA Finals”? To the surprise of everyone, including the shocked reporters, Smith’s daughter had a hilarious answer:
While this answer may come off as funny and sarcastic, J.R. Smith’s recent interview in which he personally spoke about how much his daughter means to him was in all seriousness. Smith thanked his daughter, also mentioning that she helped teach him the valuable lesson of sacrifice.
In the NBA Finals so far, Smith has been on and off. The Cavaliers desperately need his hot shooting, as they currently face a 3-2 deficit. When Smith has the hot hand, the Cavaliers are an entirely different Basketball team.
J.R. Smith’s daughter has been watching her dad for years. Now, on the serious side, she will be in attendance tonight to watch her Dad play in a must-win game for the Cavaliers, rooting him on every second of the way in a sure to be entertaining game.
