The Cleveland Cavaliers have been battling injury issues all season. Early in the campaign, J.R. Smith went down with a thumb injury and that was just the start of it. Kevin Love suffered a knee injury which still sidelines him and newly signed Andrew Bogut saw his season end only 58 seconds into his debut with the Cavs.
But with injury issues, for the most part, come back to workout with a positive ending and a return to the court for most players. In this case, the Cavs will be getting sharpshooting swingman J.R. Smith back on the court relatively sooner than anticipated. He’s been cleared to return to practice for Cleveland.
The Cavs made the announcement official earlier today.
JR Smith (right thumb) has been cleared to resume full practice activity today and is listed as Questionable vs. Detroit.
Smith’s return to the Cavs lineup is welcomed given the lackluster play from other two guards in his absence. Now, with him in the starting lineup and Kyle Korver coming off the bench, the Cavaliers might have the best shooting roster in the NBA. If you include Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, Channing Frye and the suddenly accurate LeBron James, the Cavs will be making it rain from deep for sure.
