She’s back!
Joy Reid is launching The Joy Reid Show, a video podcast releasing new episodes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The premiere of the political pundit’s video podcast will feature comedian Amber Ruffin and former ambassador Ebrahim Rasool.
“The Joy Reid Show marks an exciting new chapter in my career. Podcasting has evolved into one of the most respected platforms for storytelling and journalism, and I truly believe I’m stepping into this space at the perfect time,” Reid told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m bringing conversations that challenge, uplift, and connect, all rooted in my voice and perspective. I’m excited for where it will take us.”
Prior to launching her independent podcast on YouTube and other streaming platforms, Reid hosted MSNBC’s The ReidOut. The Reid Out aired weeknights for nearly five years, featuring the likes of Al Sharpton and Kamala Harris and winning an NAACP Image Award. In February 2025, MSNBC announced that it would cancel the show.
“Joy Reid is leaving the network, and we thank her for her countless contributions over the years,” MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler said.
“Her work has been recognized with several esteemed honors, including most recently, the 2025 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding News Series. In the coming weeks, rotating anchors will host the hour.”
In a statement, Reid thanked her viewers and those who worked on the show.
“I just want to say thank you to everyone who has reached out with kindness and encouragement, both personally and in these social media streets,” she wrote.
“So very proud of The Reidout @joy.msnbc.com team, who are truly family, and all of our supporters & friends.”
Less than four months after her departure from MSNBC, Reid is back. The first episode of The Joy Reid Show is expected to premiere on Monday, June 9, 2025.
