In an interview with Total Film, director Joss Whedon discussed why he chose Ultron to be the main villain in the upcoming ‘Avengers’ sequel.
He said he wanted to include Ultron in the first Avenger’s movie.
“I was pitching Ultron before I took the job on the first movie,” said Whedon. “I was like, ‘I don’t know if I want to do this, but for the second one, you should totally do Ultron.’ Because he’s been a thorn in their side as much as any other character over the years and particularly back in my history.”
Whedon has said Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson, will also have a prominent role in the film.
‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ hits theaters on May 1, 2015.
