Champions alumna Josie Totah will reportedly join the Saved By The Bell reboot. Totah will join original cast members, Elizabeth Berkley and Mario Lopez, on the NBCU Peacock led reboot. In the new show, she will play the role of Lexi, a sharp-minded, charismatic cheerleader who is both beloved and feared.
The show will follow the story of Bayside High School. A statement about the show reads, “When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state — including Bayside High.”
“The influx of new students gives the over privileged Bayside kids a much needed and hilarious dose of reality,” reads a statement about the show,” the statement continues.
Behind the scenes 30 Rock producer, Tracey Wigfield, will executive produce the series. As of now, the series is set to live on NBCU’s upcoming streaming service. However, there is no definitive release date at the moment.
