Josh Smith has a knack for letting his play do the talking. Which is why he is not everybody’s favourite player. You know, so many bricks he’s built housing projects you get the story.
But now he is with the Los Angeles Clippers, and recently he was with his fellow new arrivals and they all talked to the media a on the usual stuff. When it came to J Smoove, he talked about his money, most of which is still coming from the Detroit Pistons’ pocket. And because this is the first time where his contract isn’t as large, he will apparently find it a little hard only getting under $7 million for the season. (Skip to the 14 minute mark)
It wasn’t about the money because of the Detroit situation. But at the end of the day, you know, I do have a family. So, it is going to be a little harder on me this year. But I’m going to push through it and try to do long-term after this year. But I think, this year, focusing on doing something special with this group of guys – we have the opportunity to do something special. Right now, this is what I want to focus on.
Shall I just say it? Alright then. Boo hoo! You’ve been committing highway robbery ever since you came into the league! Your contracts have always ended up being way too much considering what you produce on the court. This veteran minimum is the only contract where we can look at that and go ‘that’s worth the money’. There I said it!
