Former San Antonio Spurs wing Josh Primo has now been accused of exposing himself to women multiple times. The allegations indicate that this is the reason he was released by the San Antonio Spurs despite being only 19 and being the team’s 2021 first-round pick and the 12th overall pick in the draft. San Antonio had also just picked up his third-year option for next season just two weeks ago. Spurs CEO RC Buford said the following about the release: “It is our hope that, in the long run, this decision will serve the best interest of both the organization and Joshua,”
Reporting with ?@wojespn? The San Antonio Spurs’ release of guard Josh Primo – the No. 12 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft — stemmed from multiple alleged instances of Primo exposing himself to women. https://t.co/4qV7FzmkNI

Before this report was released accusing him, Josh Primo released the following statement to ESPN: “I know that you all are surprised by today’s announcement. I’ve been seeking help to deal with previous trauma I suffered and will now take this time to focus on my mental health treatment more fully. I hope to be able to discuss these issues in the future so I can help others who have suffered in a similar way. I appreciate privacy at this time.” Now with these accusations out it becomes more clear why the Spurs decided to release the 19-year-old wing. At the time people speculated about the release and it having to do with non-basketball-related issues.
Josh Primo is a great young talent. Scores easy. Just 19 years old. Spurs had been developing this kid. The small market Spurs don’t just drop a player like that unless something detrimental happened off the court. Not sure what. Coach Pop declined comment. Very odd situation.

Josh Primo was working his way into a larger role with the team in his second year and was a factor for the team when they considered their long-term plans. Friday other teams had reportedly kept their eyes on the young wing, but that could change now.
