Just by the title, everybody, not just Knicks fans are saying “We’ll I’d hope you think you’ll win more!”
Imagine if he said we’ll be lucky to even get 10? Ah the jokes that flow through my head. But Jose Calderón isn’t stupid, he sees the minor improvements made and the Knicks look a little better. They’re still going to be plum last in the Eastern Conference though, battling Philadelphia for ultimate garbage supremacy.
Calderón, who’s been battling with his own personal injuries is ready to go, hopefully with some help now.
“A lot of bad things happened last year,’’ Calderon said. “We’ll win more than 17 games and we’ll try to win every game. I’m real excited we can do great things, but talking about the playoffs, it’s too early. You don’t talk playoffs a few weeks before training camp.’’
“I never could get 100 percent the way the season is,’’ Calderon said. “It was a very tough season for me and I couldn’t play the way I wanted to. I needed time with the Achilles. I was thinking about myself. I want to play here a few more years.’’
Now that the Knicks actually have another point guard (sorry Shane Larkin) maybe Calderón can ease back into the game. I don’t think he had much of a chance to truly recover from his achilles injury. He’s had the summer to heal. It’s time to get back into it.
