The Jords experience is set to begin this Friday as the emerging wordsmith prepares to release his latest body of work, Dirt In The Diamond. More than a collection of songs, Dirt In The Diamond posits itself as a lens to see the many sides of the Croydon songwriter. On “Fist In The Air” with Jordan Mackampa, the front steps turn into the podium at a protest. On “Stay Close” with Kranium, the living room becomes a nightclub. Regardless of where he is in the world, he finds himself at home on the track as he displays the complex realities of being Black, bold and articulate in today’s world.
“There’s so much that I hold in. [There are] so many feelings that I hold in because I just like being patient with people. At the same time, I can internalize these feelings. I need to put them somewhere. I’m not good at communicating my feelings in any other way apart from music,” he said in regard to the role music and his latest project, Dirt In The Diamond, plays in his life.
On Friday, Jords will bring us into his world through his latest LP. Until then, check out the project’s most recent single — “First In The Air” featuring Jordan Mackampa.
