The New Orleans Pelicans are currently lacking some serious depth along the perimeter. To combat their attrition they have agreed upon a contract with longtime NBA journeyman Jordan Crawford according to Justin Verrier of ESPN.
Jordan Crawford has agreed to a two-year contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, a league source confirmed.
The deal will keep the guard with the Pelicans for their remaining 14 games this season.
The second year of the contract has a guaranteed date for 2017-18, according to The Vertical, which earlier reported Crawford’s pending deal.
Crawford, who has now been on 5 NBA teams over the past 7 years with 2 off years, will finally have some semblance of stability. Crawford had signed a 10-day contract with the team where he has shined, averaging 14.2 points per game 3.2 assists on 50.9% shooting and 51.9% from three in his five games with the team. The Pelicans playoff chances are currently closer to none than thin but Crawford is at least a talented backcourt player that they are in desperate need of and could be important in their hunt for the playoffs next season.
