Spurs shooting guard, Jonathon Simmons, is known for is surreal athleticism on the court. High flying dunks, intense fast break action, and chase down blocks have become staples of his game. His on court prowess is so incredible, even he can not believe some of his own athletic feats. Naturally, many want to see him participate in a competition specifically centered around his unique skill set, The Slam Dunk Contest. According to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News, however, Simmons has no plans of ever being involved in the contest.
Jon Simmons, giving one reason he’ll likely never be in a dunk contest: “I’m just a straight game dunker. I just want to dunk on people.”

Now it is impossible to say how well an incredible in game dunker’s dunks will translate to the contest. Some previously hyped up names came up flat in recent years. Without Zach LaVine this year, and Aaron Gordon recently in a walking boot, the contest could use some pop. Unfortunately, it looks like fans will have to settle for incredible dunking within the 48 minute time frame of an NBA game from Jonathon Simmons. Which actually, is just fine.
