Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin has been detained by police after posting a disturbing image on his Instagram account directed towards those who have bullied him in the past. Martin was involved in a bullying scandal in which he was the target of harassment from former Dolphins teammates Richie Incognito, John Jerry and Mike Pouncey.
He posted an image of a gun with ammunition and tagged former teammates and hashtagged his former high school and the Dolphins with the message “When you’re a bully victim & a coward, your options are suicide or revenge”. #HarvardWestlake and #MiamiDolphins were added to post to look like it was engraved on the weapon. The Instagram accounts of Pouncey, Incognito and two former Harvard-Westlake student-athletes on the basketball team, James Dunleavy and TJ Taylor, were also tagged in the post.
Martin allegedly posted the following image on his private Instagram account.

This disturbing news comes just a little over one week after the tragedy at Majory Stoneman Douglas in Florida. According to Matt Stone of ABC News, Martin has been taken into custody. The Harvard-Westlake school closed its two campuses in Studio City and Beverly Crest on Friday.

“Students already on campus will be supervised and protected in designated areas until parents can make arrangements to pick them up or for them to return home safely"

Martin attended the school over a decade ago with Dunleavy and Taylor. KTLA 5 in California has more information on the school closing.
Harvard-Westlake issued a statement on the situation Friday.
Last evening, we learned of an Internet post that mentions Harvard-Westlake by name. Out of an abundance of caution, and because the safety of our students, faculty, and staff is our top priority, we made the decision to close school today. We are working closely with law enforcement and will share more information when we are able.
Martin graduated from Harvard-Westlake in 2008 while Taylor and Dunleavy both graduated from the prep school in 2007 and were members of the basketball team with Martin. Dunleavy is also the son of former NBA coach and player Mike Dunleavy Sr and brother of former NBA player Mike Dunleavy Jr.
Martin, 28, was drafted by the Dolphins in the second round in 2012 and spent the first two years of his career there before he left following the issue with bullying involving his former teammates. Martin played one more year in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers. He was claimed by the Carolina Panthers in 2015 after the 49ers cut him but a back injury pushed Martin towards retirement.
The summer after he stepped away, Martin revealed he attempted suicide multiple times during his career.
