Rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel was a complete disaster in his pro debut against the Cincinnati Bengals. Manziel finished the game 10/18, 80 yards, and 2 interceptions. The Cincinnati Defense completely harassed him the entire game on the way to a 30-0 victory. The entire Cleveland Browns offense flopped only converting 5 first downs. In my surprise Manziel took the loss quite well saying “It was tough,” he said. “When you get beat, you get beat and you take it like a man. I felt like it was a fail on my part. ”
Personally I believe Manziel will wind up becoming a bust being very similar to Akili Smith. Some of his failures may be attributed to Lebron James being in attendance. The bottom line is Johnny Football is a 5th round talent with 1st round hype. The Browns have a horrible track record when it comes to drafting quarterbacks including Brady Quinn, Brandon Weeden, and Tim Couch. Johnny will have a chance to redeem himself next week vs. a weak Carolina squad. We should have seen this coming from the only guy to ever to leave the Manning Passing Academy early for over sleeping.
