The other day when the New York Giants hosted the Washington Redskins in their Thursday night Football game there was a familiar, tall person on the Redskins sideline. Kevin Durant, Washington D.C. native, was tossing around the pigskin with members of his hometown football team.
So as the 2015-16 NBA season is getting set to start, of course the talk of what Kevin Durant might do next summer will begin to gain some traction. There is one player who’s been on the KD chase for a while. Washington Wizards point guard, John Wall.
Wall has previously said he started ‘planting seeds’ in Durant’s ear for KD to bring his talents to DC in 2016. So when Wall had a chance to talk about Durant once again, those same seeds might have started to bloom.
Wall said the following in an interview from CSN Mid-Atlantic.
There’s no doubt that the Wizards are going to chase the services of Durant. Who wouldn’t? There will be over an estimated 20 teams next season that will have cap space to offer Durant a max contract but more than half of them wouldn’t be an ideal situation for KD.
As of right now, nothing can happen and Wall is right. He’s going to worry about what himself and Durant will do the same but this will come back again and they might talk about sometime soon but there’s more important things to handle for both sides. The Wizards need to do something with Bradley Beal’s contract extension and the Thunder have to figure out what they’re going to do with a stacked roster under a new head coach.
