After sitting out the last two games vs Philadelphia and Brooklyn, Wizards point guard is set to return tonight when Washington faces the Eastern Conference leading Atlanta Hawks (60-19). Wall will certainly help the Wizards perform better than they did in Friday’s 117-80 loss to Brooklyn. Although the game will likely have no impact on the Wizards in the playoffs, a win over a team as hot as Atlanta would give Washington some confidence going forward.
In his second straight all-star campaign, Wall has led the Wizards to the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Wall is not only becoming a better player, but he is becoming a better leader, and helping his team win in ways other than being the best player on the court.
Wall has been averaging 17.5 points, 10 assists, and 4.7 rebounds in 35.8 minutes per game. This season, Wall has recorded career highs in assists, rebounds, and field goal percentage (44.8). If Wall can keep this up or even improve a little more, the Wizards competing for a title once the playoffs come would not be a surprise.
