John Wall is feeling slighted. Not by fans, teams or players but by NBA referees. Wall has received 14 technical fouls this season which is good for 3rd in the NBA and puts him two away from a suspension. He was especially perturbed after getting his 14th technical foul in the Wizards game against the Hornets according to Candace Buckner of The Washington Post,
“I’m just tired of these B.S. technical fouls that I’m getting,”
“It was just a back-and-forth talk. Just a common talk you have,” Wall said, explaining his conversation with Charlotte’s Frank Kaminsky, “and Danny [Crawford] just came in and said, ‘Technical fouls.’ I’ve heard worse than that before and vulgar words have been said, which weren’t said then, and then they just slap a technical foul. I’m getting tired of it.”
John Wall has played phenomenal basketball all season long averaging career highs in points per game, assists, steals, and field goal percentage. Unfortunately, a lot of the time foul calling is a reputation game. DeMarcus Cousins is known as a hot head and technical foul getter so his rope for getting T-ed up is much shorter than others. Wall has clearly created a similar reputation and he is not so pleased about it.
“I see guys cussing refs out, taking the ball from refs, they don’t get technical fouls. I say one little, simple thing, it’s always a technical foul”
