Yesterday, John Wall was named to second team all-defense to join Anthony Davis, Tim Duncan, Jimmy Butler, and Andre Bogut. The recognition is an honor showing not only how much John Wall has grown as a player, but the effort he brings to the floor every night. Playing defense is tough, but the best players are the ones who give their all on the defensive end of the floor.
This marks the first time Wall has been put on one of the two all-defensive teams, and shows how much effort he has been putting into becoming an overall better player. As a player who came in as a speed and effort kind of guy, he has always had the physical ability to be a good defender, but he is now evolving into a great defender.
This marks the first time Wall has received postseason recognition from the league since his rookie season in 2011 when he was named to the all-rookie first team. This is the beginning of a career that will include more and more awards as time goes on.
