The Washington Wizards were doing great at the beginning of the Playoffs. John Wall was destroying the opposition, I think you’d agree with me in saying that he was the MVP of the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
And then he got injured, landing on his left wrist. It looked bleak for the Washington Wizards, Paul Pierce gave them a boost but ultimately it wasn’t enough, they couldn’t do it without their main man.
But Wall has been rehabilitating the hand and wrist and its good news, Wiz head coach Randy Wittman is saying there’s “no problem” with the injury.
Wittman said Wall followed through on his stated plans to avoid surgery and let the five non-displaced fractures in his non-shooting hand/wrist heal through rest.
“He’s doing great,” Wittman told the Washington Times on Thursday. “He was just here [Wednesday] and came to practice and talked to our young guys here. I said, ‘Yeah, now you’re an old man.’ But, no, he’s healthy, and no problems with the hand or anything else.“
It’s always good news when a player does not need surgery. Sometimes there’s a need for it, but like LaMarcus Aldridge who didn’t elect for surgery early this year, Wall chose not to do it and it seems as if he was right not to do it.
