‘Boyz n the Hood’ director John Singleton has signed on to make the long awaited Tupac biopic.
According to Variety, Singleton will direct, produce and re-write the script.
“Tupac was the guy who I planned to do a lifetime of films with,” said Singleton. “His passing deeply affected my life as well as countless people in this world. His life story is as important to my generation.”
The director had previously been attached to the project two years ago before another director was hired.
Singleton had previously worked with Tupac before on 1993’s ‘Poetic Justice’.
The untitled film will reportedly start filming this spring.
