After a disappointing loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday the Denver Broncos and head coach John Fox have mutually agreed to part ways. In a statement Broncos general manager John Elway had this to say, “John Fox and I met for more than an hour on Monday afternoon to discuss the 2014 season and our goals for the future. During our open and candid conversation, it became clear that it was best for both the Denver Broncos and Coach Fox to move on and make this change.” Fox posted an impressive 49-18 record over his four year career as Broncos head coach. Unfortunately this will be overshadowed by his lopsided loss to Seattle in the Super Bowl and Sundays upset loss to the Colts.
On Monday Fox expressed interest in continuing his coaching career. It’s likely that moving forward he lands in Chicago. The Bears will be interested in trying to pair their young general manager Ryan Pace with a veteran head coach. The Bears posted the thirtieth ranked defense a year after they were ranked third in the league. As Fox is considered to be a defensive minded coach this move would bode well for the Bears.
