Once again, the reigning star of the WWE took to the SNL stage and delivered a hilarious performance. The leader of the ‘C Nation’ took the stage as a host on SNL for the first time joining Hulk Hogan and The Rock as the three WWE talents to host the sketch comedy show. Cena has been a guest on the show before way back in 2009 part of season 34.
John Cena hasn’t been on WWE television since his loss to the phenomenal one A.J. Styles back in August as a part of the WWE’s SummerSlam pay-per-view. He took some time off and did some other things outside of the WWE Universe. So it made sense for Cena to host the legendary show and honestly, it was about time. The charismatic superstar did a pretty good job as the lead man on the Saturday Night Live.
John’s opening monologue saw him take on a host of SNL cast members as they tried to one-up him as a wrestling superstar. As the night progressed, it was quickly noted that sports, strength and his good looks would be the theme of the broadcast with Cena as host.
From portraying New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski to president-elect Donald Trump to even an Alabama football player, Cena just about did it all. Check out some of the highlights from his SNL hosting debut below.
