Joey Bosa was the third overall pick by the San Diego Chargers in the 2016 NFL Draft back in April. The linebacker from Ohio State was viewed by many to be best defensive player in the draft. September is upon us and the final week of the NFL preseason begins soon and Bosa has not been with the Chargers.
His mother stated that the family wishes they pulled an Eli Manning and for those who don’t know, essentially they wished they pulled a draft day trade. Manning forced his way out of the Chargers and ended up with the Giants because he didn’t want to play for San Diego. The Bosa family appeared to want the same.
A lot was said, not much was done but there was a resolution that made both parties happy. Bosa has agreed to sign a deal with the Chargers. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and Adam Schefter of ESPN have some details on Bosa’s contract.
The #Chargers and Joey Bosa reached a 4-year, $25.8M contract, source said. He gets a $17M signing bonus. It's all fully guaranteed.

Do not expect Bosa to be on the field for the Chargers preseason finale on Thursday against the San Francisco 49ers. Now for their week one contest against the Kansas City Chiefs on the first Sunday of the NFL season could be a possibility. Bosa has been working out while holding out and a player with his skill would be hard to keep off the field.
