After dropping “My Town” with Loaded Lux on Monday, Joey Bada$$ has returned with “Crash Dummy” on Tuesday. Drawing from Tupac’s “Hit ‘Em Up,” the amped up production finds the Brooklyn MC firing directly at Ray Vaughn with an arsenal of bombs and shots.
“What’s the current situation? N—s just clickbaitin’/How predictable, this the angle I was anticipating/And thank you for making it clear that Dot scared, but yeah/I was at the party, but I also saw Top there,” he raps. “Y’all talking the same as every n—a out here/Y’all n—s goin’ out sad ’cause I’m the one who top tier/He said, ‘Hey, Joey, I got this artist named Ray Vaughn’/’And I’d appreciate if you would really help me put him on’/I said, ‘Okay, Top, but you know it’s gon’ cost you’/You know I really want the one who elevated your roster.”
However, Joey Bada$$ didn’t stop there. In the second verse, the Brooklyn native continues to fire at Ray Vaughn, suggesting that his time with TDE will soon come to an end.
“You really need to get your affairs in order/Last time I checked, your label exec’s was in hot water/The Diddy house angle is terrible, you makin’ it way too easy for me, we ain’t comparable,” he raps. “When I’m done with you, Top won’t let you drop like Karrahbooo.”
Joey Bada$$ is back outside and the back-and-forth between the East and West Coasts is seemingly escalated with nearly a dozen new tracks in 24 hours.
