Brooklyn’s own Joey Bada$$ has delivered his third studio album, 2000. The latest offering from the New York MC includes contributions from Capella Grey, J.I.D, Chris Brown, Westside Gunn and Larry June. In addition, the project will also include production from the legendary Statik Selektah.
Led by the previously released singles, “Head High,” “Survivor’s Guilt” and “Where I Belong,” 2000 provides an update on the Brooklyn native. In the five years that have passed since his last LP, Joey Bada$$ has launched an acting career, won an Academy Award and ventured into several other endeavors. Throughout this project, he touches on his success in other areas while also revisiting some of the tougher moments that have taken place. On “Head High,” he touches on the death of XXXTentacion and he remembers his close friend, Capital Steez, on “Survivor’s Guilt.” The incredibly balanced project offers a much needed insight into the mind of an artist that fans have grown close to over the years.
2000 is a must listen this weekend. Check out the latest project from Joey Bada$$ below.
