He’s back!
Hours after Daylyt’s “WRD2MIMVA” and Az Chike’s “What Would You Do?,” Joey Bada$$ has enlisted Loaded Lux for “My Town.” Produced by Pro Era’s Kirk Knight, the New York-style production lays the foundation for the Brooklyn MC to fire shots in the direction of Daylyt, Az Chike, and Ray Vaughn before Loaded Lux hops in to finish the job.
“I’ma get through the day fast like Ramadan/I’m the real bogeyman, y’all n—s should be afraid/F—k takin’ y’all so long? You n—s seven days/All ’em shots y’all took and I ain’t even get grazed/Sonnin’ y’all, Kanan ain’t the only thing gettin’ raised,” Joey Bada$$ raps.
“Tee Grizzley, I’m big gaming, the Knicks head coach, I’m putting pain in/You been on the ropes/That’s why you wear that ski mask, careers on a slope/Your s—t playin’ freeze tag, you been going for broke/End game, Joey out here lightin’ you up/N—s playin’ with your name/I’m just sayin’,” Loaded Lux adds in the second verse.
“My Town” is the second response track Joey Bada$$ has released in the last five days, following “The Finals.” However, it is the first track on which a fellow New York MC added a verse. With Az Chike, Reason, Ray Vaughn, and Daylyt all firing back at Joey Bada$$, it finally appears other New York rappers have joined the platinum-selling artist in this friendly battle.
