I was wondering when the Philadelphia 76ers will throw us all a bone as it pertains to their bug man with a busted foot Joel Embiid.
To recap, we knew that he re-broke his right foot over a month ago, then we realised that the Sixers haven’t said anything about Joel Embiid in weeks. Questions started to swirl, most importantly, when is Embiid going to have surgery.
Well according to Yahoo! Sports, we finally have a day. Tuesday.
Injured Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid will have a second surgery on his right foot Tuesday and is expected to miss the upcoming season, sources told Yahoo Sports.
The No. 3 overall selection in the 2014 NBA draft missed his entire rookie season after having surgery in June 2014 to repair a stress fracture in the foot.Embiid, 21, is expected to have a bone graft procedure similar to the foot surgery of Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant. The Sixers announced in July that Embiid needed a second surgery after a routine CT scan in June revealed less healing than anticipated.
Now here’s what’s confusing me. Why did the Sixers give Embiid freedom to do those dunks and then noticed that the healing wasn’t as good? They let the guy out before games, pulling of ‘between the leg’ dunks and then clocked onto the poor healing.
What’s going on here? When did we see Paul George dunk? When he was 100%. When did we see KD putting in work? During this summer. As soon as Embiid gets out of the boot they let him dunk as if he’s practicing for the dunk contest.
