Over the past two seasons football fans have been debating where the legacies of Tom Brady and Peyton Manning will fall on the list of past NFL greats. After winning his fourth Super Bowl and third Super Bowl MVP many people now feel that Brady sits a top that list. Recently former Jets quarterback and NFL legend Broadway Joe Namath has weighed in on the subject. Namath told Jenny Vrentas of The MMQB, “No one’s ever been better. No one’s ever been better than Tom Brady, I don’t believe. And I go back to watching the guys earlier in some of the darker days, in the ’50s.” Namath continued, “Better than, better than, better than. The best, the best, the best. To each his own. I have a hard time calling anybody in any sport ‘the best’ because of the changes in the game, certainly, and because of the greats that were ahead of them. But I will say, no one has ever played the game better than Tom Brady.”
Considering that Namath is most famous for upsetting Johnny Unitas, who is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, in Super Bowl III he is definitely qualified to weigh in on the subject.
