Harris only played five games last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers before his season ended with a right foot injury. Harris was traded to the Orlalndo Magic on January 12 to lower the tax bill on the Cavaliers. The Magic would go onto waive Joe Harris.
Harris obviously wasn’t the top option for the Nets. Plan A for the Nets was Tyler Johnson and Alan Crabbe but after the Miami Heat and Portland Trailblazers matched offers for their respective players. That forced the Nets to move onto plan B and sign veteran point guard Greivis Vasquez.
Harris has only played in 56 NBA games but is a career 36.4% shooter from three. He will be battling for playing time in Brooklyn. The contract is for two years two million dollars according to Michael Scotto.
