Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow will miss some days of training camp to recover from surgery to remove his appendix, according to Ian Rapoport from NFL Network.

An appendectomy won’t sideline Burrow for much time. Ben Roethlisberger and Matt Cassell had the procedure during their career and they only missed one game recovering. Even in Cincinnati, backup quarterback in 2006 Anthony Wright underwent the surgery and was inactive for three weeks.
There are still six weeks left before the start of the season and the surgery is scheduled to happen in the next few days. We should see him back in practice soon and ready for the first game against the Arizona Cardinals. For the moment, Brandon Allen and Jake Browning will take the QB reps in practice until he returns.
Burrow comes from the best season imaginable, he led the Bengals to their first Super Bowl game since 1989, he won the Comeback Player of the Year and solidified his position as one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
Last season, he completed 70.4% of his passes to lead the league in completion percentage for 4611 yards, 34 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. He also scored two rushing touchdowns.
