Places dealing in sports betting never miss an opportunity to take in some early action. So it’s not surprising in the least that odds for 2020’s NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year have are already up. It’s also not surprising that top overall pick, quarterback Joe Burrow, is considered the favorite by a good margin.
Burrow was taken with the number one pick last Thursday by the Cincinnati Bengals after posting one of the best college seasons for a quarterback in history, leading LSU to a national championship.
The rookie QB’s odds are currently listed at +215. Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has the second-best chances to win the award at +550. He was one of Burrow’s backfield mates at LSU and was taken with the last pick of the first round by the Kansas City Chiefs. Alabama product Tua Tagovailoa, taken by the Miami Dolphins at number five to be their future franchise QB, is next at +700. Those numbers are according to DraftKings’ online sportsbook. Numbers may change a little, depending on the source, but Joe Burrow is unanimously considered the favorite.
Though Burrow hasn’t officially signed his contract with the Bengals, the terms of his contract were released since league rookie deals work on a scale from year to year.
The value for the contract that Joe Burrow will eventually sign with the Bengals has been set: the four-year deal (plus a fifth year option) will be worth $36,190,137 with a $23,880,100 signing bonus.
