Former Vice President Joe Biden is projected to win the primary election in Virginia. This news comes along with his victory in the state of Alabama tonight and in South Carolina last week. With a number of states still voting, Biden holds an early lead in the delegate count. Following close behind, Bernie Sanders comes in second behind Biden’s 112 delegates with 80 delegates of his own.

These results come after a rocky run in the election. Over the last few days, we’ve seen Pete Buttigieg, Tom Steyer and Amy Klobuchar end their campaigns. Shortly thereafter, both Buttigieg and Klobuchar endorsed Biden. Adding on, former 2020 Presidential Candidate Beto O’Rourke also endorsed Biden this week.
Moving forward, Biden and company look towards the two biggest races in Super Tuesday, California and Texas. Those two states hold the most delegates during the journey to the nomination. Stay tuned for more updates and results throughout the night.
