It’s been more than a week since George Floyd was killed at the hands of police in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In the weeks since his death, protests from every part of the globe have taken to the streets to protest against systemic injustice and police brutality.
After another night of unrest in America, I’m hosting a virtual roundtable with mayors from across the country to discuss where we go from here. Tune in: https://t.co/qyXzbDdSBq

As we enter the second week of nationwide unrest, things have seemingly escalated as President Donald Trump has enacted Insurrection Act 1807. This act will allow him to deploy military personnel to individual states experiencing unrest if he so chooses. In response to his decree and the nation’s temperament, his opponent in November’s general election, Joe Biden, has opted to deliver remarks regarding the matter.
Former Vice President Biden will deliver those remarks to the nation from the nation’s former capital, Philadelphia. The news comes as voters take to the ballot box in seven states including Pennsylvania, Indiana, Maryland, Montana, New Mexico, Rhode Island and South Dakota. Washington, D.C. will also hold its primary elections on June 2, 2020.
