Actress Jodie Turner-Smith will host the 2022 Fashion Awards on December 5 at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
“I’ve said this before, but I see fashion like a costume. The costumes of life, you know? Anytime I wear something, it’s like a character for me, like taking on a new role. I always think of a line from one of my favorite movies by Janicza Bravo, called Zola,” Turner-Smith told Elle UK.
“There’s a moment in the movie where the main character, who is played by Taylour Paige, is looking in the mirror and she’s like, ‘Who do you want to be today, Zola?’ It’s like that for me.”
Turner-Smith has not only emerged as an activist and actor, but she also presented herself as a fashion-forward trendsetter. Working with set and costume designers, Turner-Smith has turned heads with her ensembles in The Independent, Queen & Slim, White Noise and several other projects. Moving forward, she will appear a pair of television series, Bad Monkey and The Acolyte. To top it all off, she will star in Murder Mystery II.
