Joaquin Phoenix’ film portrayal of the Joker is shaping up more and more each day. Warner Brothers have announced they have cast Dante Pereira-Olson and Douglas Hodge as a Young Bruce Wayne & Alfred, respectively.
The Todd Philips directed Joker movie is receiving a lot of attention, particularly after set videos appeared showing Phoenix with the clown makeup causing havoc in a Gotham subway station.
Pereria Olson has previously been featured in a Phoenix project ‘You Were Never Really Here’, where he starred as the child version of Phoenix in the crime drama. Douglas Hodge his experience as an actor as well with roles in Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘Red Sparrow’ and the ‘Black Museum’ episode of ‘Black Mirror’.
Those castings round out what seems to be an awfully stacked cast. Robert De Niro, Zazie Beatz, and Marc Maron are all included in the project in some form or another. Alec Baldwin was set to be the Wayne Patriarch Thomas Wayne but had to be replaced by Brett Cullen after conflicting schedules.
The film has already begun production and filming so it seems that Bruce Wayne and Alfred’s portion in the movie will be minimal. Regardless, we’re excited for the film to debut and Warner Brothers seem just as excited as us. They pushed back the Wonder Woman sequel ‘Wonder Woman 84’ to give the October 4th 2019 release date some breathing room.
A lot of hype and anticipation for such a low-budget movie.
