After suffering a sprained ankle which has bothered him for some time. Joakim Noah has got the results of his MRI and according to ESPN Chicago, it’s clean.
The good news for the Bulls, however, is that the MRI taken Saturday on Noah’s ankle came back “clean,” and coach Tom Thibodeau hopes the All-Star center can return soon.
“It’s clean, so it’s good,” Thibodeau said after Monday’s shootaround. “He’s making progress, so we’ll see where he is when we get back.”
Noah initially sprained the ankle on Dec. 2 and tweaked it again the following night. He missed four games in December because of the injury and ongoing issues related to offseason left knee surgery last May. Noah has missed the last three games and continues to get treatment on the ankle.
This is a blip on Chicago’s season for sure. Without Noah they lose their best big man. And they also lose the spirit of their team. Sure its only for a few games but you never know. This Eastern Conference is reasonably tight in the top 4. Momentum will be everything after the All-Star break. But if Noah comes back from this 100%. The Bulls are still good for a possible Finals appearance.
