For the past couple of years I have been wanting Taj Gibson to become a starting fixture but with Joakim Noah in front of him and more recently Pau Gasol I have deferred to saying that he should ask for a trade. But props to Taj, he’s stuck with the Bulls, remaining team first and now it’s looking like he will start over Joakim Noah, which I thought wouldn’t happen.
But Fred Hoiberg wants to switch it up a bit and I really like Taj so I’m supporting this potential move. And so is Joakim, forever the team-first man.
“It’s definitely an adjustment,” Noah said after Thursday’s practice. “But at the end of the day, it’s still basketball. I got to go out there, bring energy, and do what I do.”
“I’m down with whatever coach thinks is best for this team,” Noah said. “I’m a worker. I’m never going to stop working. So I’m excited for this team, we have a lot of talent, and just got to keep grinding, keep getting better.“
Noah is on the last year of his $30 million deal, but I don’t know if he thinks about it at all. The man just bleeds Bulls red. I don’t think he cares about money. And that’s refreshing, especially after the Tristan Thompson rubbish.
Yes, I’m still steaming about that. All that! For an extra $2 Million!
