It was another unfortunate injury episode for Derrick Rose this week after suffering a left orbital fracture and needing surgery. Rose is expected to presume basketball activities in about two weeks.
Rose’s trusted teammate, Joakim Noah, had a chance to react to the point guard’s latest injury.
Following from Sam Smith of Bulls.com:
Noah on Rose: “First play, takes an elbow, goes down. But it’s not the end of the world. He’ll be back in not much time.”

Reactions on social media initially made it seem like the end of the world for Rose and the Bulls, but that’s an expected overreaction from fans who have seen injuries routinely plague Rose over the last few years.
More Noah: “I texted (Rose). This team is in good spirits. Things happen. I know he’s really hungry to come in and help lead this team.”

From head coach Fred Hoiberg:
Hoiberg on Rose: “He’s still in great spirits; it’s not a structural injury. When he comes back ready to go he should be able to go 100%.” — Sam Smith (@SamSmithHoops) September 30, 2015
A minor setback for Rose and major optimism from the Bulls as he recovers over the next couple of weeks.
