New York Knicks center Joakim Noah says that the goal for the Knicks this season is to take down LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers in the playoffs. From Frank Isola of the New York Daily News:
“That’s definitely the goal,” Noah said on Wednesday. “It’s definitely not an easy task but that has to be the mindset. We all know what it is. Right now it goes through him. It goes through that guy. For us to get to where we want to get to we have to beat that guy.”
Noah and his teammates Derrick Rose and Carmelo Anthony have all spent a good chunk of their careers in the East, where they have all formed rivalries with LeBron James. Now, they’re all together in New York, trying to compete with him in the playoffs.
Unfortunately, the Cavs are a far more talented team than the Knicks. While I do think that this Knicks team will be an interesting experiment, they certainly won’t have a chance of competing with the Cavs — unless they have a time machine, that is.
