Today, Global Citizen and the World Health Organization announced a virtual COVID-19 benefit concert. Titled “One World: Together At Home,” the relief concert is set for April 18, 8-10 PM ET and will be co-hosted by Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert.
Scheduled performers for the COVID-19 relief concert include Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Burna Boy, Chris Martin, Eddie Vedder, Elton John, J Balvin, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves and Keith Urban.
According to CNN, “proceeds from the fundraiser will be directed toward the World Health Organization’s efforts to equip frontline healthcare workers with protective equipment and to various charities providing food and shelter to those in need.”
The relief concert will be airing across NBC, ABC and CBS and other international networks. It will also stream online via platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple, Facebook, Hulu, Instagram, LiveXLive, Tencent, Tencent Music Entertainment Group, TIDAL, TuneIn, Twitch, Twitter, Yahoo and YouTube.
The entertainment special, curated by Lady Gaga, will celebrate the efforts of community health workers and promote the fight to end the global pandemic. It will be produced by The Voice and Songlandexec producer Audrey Morrissey and her production company Live Animals in partnership with Global Citizen.
The event is being described as, “a global broad entertainment special to celebrate the heroic efforts of community health workers and support the World Health Organization and the global fight to end COVID-19.”
The COVID-19 relief concert will feature multimillion-dollar pledges to the WHO’s Solidarity Response Fund, a foundation set up to support healthcare workers and local charities.
