Chicago Bulls guard Jimmy Butler is in the midst of his most stellar NBA season yet, dominating opponents while displaying his improved scoring skills on a nightly basis.
Butler has transitioned into a leadership role on the Bulls, becoming a pivotal part of the organization’s success. Butler, who is expected to start for the Eastern All-Stars in February, recently suffered from an illness, according to reports.

As a result from getting sick, Butler became the latest player to lose weight from illness, dropping a total of 10 pounds.
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love lost 10 pounds earlier this month after suffering from sickness, as well. Illness has circulated around the Bulls’ locker room in recent weeks, but no cases were reported as serious as this one.
The illness held a significant effect on Butler during the Bulls’ 109-94 loss to Oklahoma City last week, with Butler scoring just 1 point in 28 minutes. He appeared to be exhausted, worn down and dazed.
Despite losing weight and missing a few games, don’t expect Jimmy Butler to cool down any time soon. Butler has been scorching hot on offense recently, scoring 52 points against the Hornets and 42 against Toronto earlier in the month.
According to Fred Hoiberg, Butler will return today against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Bulls, who are currently competing with several teams in the Eastern Conference for a Playoff seed, desperately need Butler’s services to continue remaining somewhat competitive.
